The older snorkel designs with the cage and ball system were a less-than-adequate attempt to solve a difficult problem... water in the snorkel. Through time and research, things have really changed.

Now, there is a dry snorkel technology that actually works. It is the ScubaMax Seal Dry Pro II Snorkel. This snorkel has a large purge chamber at the bottom of the snorkel, making it easy to remove any residual water. The floating ball chamber at the top of the snorkel barrel, however, is the most important feature. When the snorkel is submerged, the ball floats up to seal the snorkel barrell which greatly reduces the amount of water that enters. The ScubaMax Seal Dry Pro II Snorkel is an excellent choice.
